By SD Times News Team
February 15, 2011 —
Telerik has launched
Sitefinity 4.0
, an update to its ASP.NET-based content management system that features advanced workflow control for process management. The product has been redesigned with an open API for customization, and it now features an AJAX back end for better performance, according to the company. Sitefinity 4.0 introduces developer help in the form of Windows Workflow Foundation integration, an improved Widget Template Editor, and a new Project Manager that brings to developers streamlined installation, deployment and upgrade processes. The new product incorporates more than 100 AJAX, ASP.NET and Silverlight controls from Telerik’s RadControls developer tool kit. Telerik last month also announced that it has acquired e-commerce technology provider Mallsoft for an undisclosed amount. That acquisition is expected to lead to the integration of Mallsoft’s e-commerce functionality and Sitefinity’s ability to manage the content of e-commerce sites.
ComponentOne late last month released
Wijmo
, a collection of jQuery UI widgets for the creation of rich Internet applications. jQuery UI is a client-side framework for JavaScript UI components. Wijmo extends the standard jQuery UI suite with new grids, charts, and interactive UI widgets based on jQuery UI guidelines and frameworks, according to the company. Themes for the widgets can be created with jQuery UI’s ThemeRoller tool. Wijmo Complete is a feature-rich commercial toolkit that includes all the grids, charts and widgets. Wijmo Open is an open-source version licensed under the MIT/GPL licenses and includes UI widgets such as menus, calendars and list boxes.
